People of any age (including children and babies) may be affected by arthritis and RMDs.

According to the World Arthritis Day website (, early diagnosis of arthritis and RMDs is important for many reasons, including that “The prevalence of clinical anxiety and depression in those with RMDs is about twice that seen in the general population…”

Suffering from arthritis and RMDs is the most common cause of sick leave and early retirement, worldwide, and are a tremendous economic burden on healthcare systems around the world.
